History & Work
We believe while leading a life as a 'social animal', we must go beyond our basic needs of food, shelter and clothing and fulfill the duty of giving back to society as a whole. We carry in our hearts a solicitation to pave a way towards the upliftment of the poor, orphan and downtrodden members of the world in which we live. Out of this urge to aid the needy, we have established “JYOT”-to enlighten the lives
of the beings who were till today far from the reach of light of a purposeful life.
We along with some innovatively like-minded youth successfully carried out an initiative- “SHIKSHAN-JYOT” on Teachers' Day- 5th of September 2017 where the needy students of the college were provided with free books, notes and question paper bank. A huge response was received from the members of JYOT for the organization of a blood donation camp- “JEEVAN-JYOT” in the college premises. A beautiful exhibition was set up on 12th January under “KALA-JYOT” in which students presented their artistry on the topic 'National Integrity' through various paintings and photographs followed by the group discussion on the same. A workshop- “LET’S TALK” addressed the subject of cultivating a mindset to face depressing situations, especially for the young audience.
The biggest endeavor- “MANAV-JYOT” helped the volunteers gain a new perspective on life when they visited a local orphanage Sadashanti Balgruha and lent an ear to the needs of the children and caretakers there. Instead of spending loads of money on DJs and loud music on the auspicious occasion of Shivjayanti our young associates donated their hard-earned money to help orphanage subdue their problems.
As a matter of fact, we are continuing this kind of social work on a regular basis which goes beyond the concepts of caste, religion, race and language, which is a ray of hope for the development of India.
To conclude, JYOT is not just an organization but an idea, a commitment towards social work and upliftment, innovative thinking!
Thank you!
